Vin Bar is such a pleasure. You can choose from the regular Valentino menu and dine in a casual setting or you can just choose from the Vin Bar menu. We decided to do a little of both.
Kumamoto Oysters with sea urchin – perfect slurping oysters
Crudo – from left to right – Who needs a sushi bar?
Big Eye Tuna with Pineapple dressing and Balsamic dots
Yellowtail with Grapefruit, Salmon Eggs, Basil Oil Dots and a Egg based sauce (the white)
Tasmanian salmon with Orange dressing
This is a 1/2 order of fried calamari (my half – John had the other half) served with garlic aoili sauce – delicious – not one bit of grease
Pennoni stuffed with Proscuitto and Mascarpone, Parmesan Fondue, Squash Sauce, Pea sauce, Roma tomatoes– This wasn’t on the menu and in fact hadn’t even been made for this evening. Guiseppe checked with the chef and he made the pennoni to order.
Wine for the evening
Vin Bar is a real find with great food and wine at a reasonable cost.
Kumamotos are my favorite oyster – I’d go to Vin Bar just for those !
