Cure for a Cold

We have a wonderful mail lady, Betty. Many times, she will hand deliver the mail just to say hi and play with the dogs. Well, yesterday, she noticed that I have been fighting a miserable cough and cold. Her medicine – gin, 2 teaspoons of honey and a squeeze of lime. She said that this was her grandmother’s recipe and always worked to dry up the mucous. Well, can’t say much about mucous, but at least I got a night’s sleep.

hee-hee. I suspect warm brandy would do the trick too 🙂

Hope that you feel better soon, and the cold and cough go away so that you can enjoy the holidays !

Better yet … 3 parts whisky (though this weekend I instead used some Drambuie I found in the back of the cabinet), 1 part lemon juice and 2 parts honey. Clears the sinuses, soothes the throat, and guarantees at least a few hours of sleep!
