I have been collecting menus for years. It is a fun hobby and a great way to relive the many fine dining meals we have had. The period of time is from 1989 to 2008.
I will add more menus to this post, but here is a sampling.
One of our first 3 star dining experiences was at Lucas Carton in Paris. We were very naive and essentially clueless.

Pierre Gagnaire – 1998

Boyer – 1989

Auberge de l’Ill

Arpege – 1989

Oustau de Baumaniere – 1989

Restaurant Greuze – 1999

George Blanc – his covers through the years

Georges Blanc – 1998

Georges Blanc – 2008

What beautiful menus ! I wish I spoke/was able to read French.
Great collection. Over the last couple of years I’ve made sure to get them, am just sorry that there were so many meals when I never asked.
I’m from France and i’m really enjoying your blog!
It brings so much nostalgia to see the prices in Francs, we realize how much the cost of life has increased in the past 15 years. 420F (~60euros) for the menu at L’arpège, it seems ridiculous right now!
Anthony and Frederic – many thanks and yes there was a time that France was a “bargain.”
Do most restaurants allow you to take a menu home if asked?
Yes, it has never been a problem.
