This is from a meal in late July that I never got around to writing up. As always, we had to be very careful and not order a lot of food as we were dining at French Laundry that evening.
The menu
Charcuterie
Croque Madame – toasted ham and cheese sandwich on brioche with a fried egg and Mornay sauce
Quiche of the day
Maine Bouchot mussels steamed with white wine. sweet garlic, basil and cherry tomatoes
Frites with mussels
Bouchon is always satisfying – don’t expect haute cuisine – this is a bistro.

mmmmmmmmmmm…. i remember really liking the croque madame when i went out there in june. i think i also had the special pork belly.
hope you and john are well.
s
Sybil, you can’t tell but my husband is a “pig.” He gets two eggs with his croque madame! I must try the pork belly – thanks.
